Upasana Kamineni is Ram Charan’s wife, a well-known actor from the Tollywood industry. She is also known as Upasana Konidela, the wise chairman of the Apollo Department and MD Apollo Life. Also, she is the grandchild of Dr. Pratap C Reddy, who is the co-founder and chairman of Apollo Hospitals.

Then, she became India’s “Ambassador for Forest Frontline Heroes” to the WWF India (World Wildlife Fund India). She is Editor-in-Chief of the magazine and the proprietor of B Positive, a lifestyle magazine and health. Her education was through Regent’s University, London.

She was involved in philanthropy at a young age. She started a campaign known as ‘U exchange’, where she would collect old notebooks and books and donate them to children in Naxal zones. She also created a JIYO app with Deepak Chopra, an Indian-born American writer, and advocate for medical issues. Her mom Shobana Kamineni is President of the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Vice-Chairperson of the Executive Committee at Apollo Hospitals. She has a brother, Puansh Kamineni and an older sister named Anushpala Kamineni.

The maternal grandparents of her mother, Prathap C. Reddy, is a Padma Vibhushan awardee and the founder of India’s first corporate healthcare system, Apollo Hospitals. Preetha Reddy (Vice-Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals), Sangita Reddy ( Joint Managing Director at Apollo Hospitals), and Suneeta Reddy ( Director of Apollo Hospitals) are her maternal aunts.

She was interested in becoming a Fashion designer as a young girl but then realized her passion for the family business. Her journey took her to London to pursue her degree in International Business Marketing and Management at Regent’s University in England. She is a lover of pets and is committed to respecting and loving them as human beings.

Upasana earned her master’s degree in International Business Marketing and Management from Regent’s University, London, England, United Kingdom. In the beginning, she wanted to be a fashion designer but later realized that she was a fan of her family’s business more.

Her favourite TV show is the Shank Tank series, and she enjoys shopping at the famous designer Louis Vuitton. She also enjoys driving, riding horses, water polo, sea diving, and watching films.
The businesswoman is an animal enthusiast and owns more than five dogs. She also holds a Falabella called Daisy given to her by Ram Charan one month after their wedding.

Upasana has a keen interest in interior design. She has designed the interiors for one of her health centres. She is a good friend of fashion designers Anamika Khanna, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and Tarun Tahiliani. Upasana and Tamannaah Bhatia are best friends.

Upasana was married to Konidela Ram Charan Teja, the son of legendary actor Chiranjeevi. Charan made his debut in the hit film Chirutha in 2007, in which he was awarded the Filmfare Award for best male debut in the South. He was featured on Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list as one of the top-paid actors in Telugu film in 2013.

Ram Charan and Upasana met through common acquaintances at a local sports club in London. They became close friends, and their friendship developed into the love of their lives. On December 1 2011, they got engaged and were wed on June 14 in 2012, in the Temple Trees Farmhouse. Their families were familiar with each other and were supportive of their relationship.
