Small Introduction of Bill Gates

William Henry Gates III (born on October 28, 1955) is an American business magnate, software developer, and philanthropist. Gates with his business partner Paul Allen founded and built the world’s largest software business, Microsoft, and became one of the wealthiest men in the world.

In February 2014, Gates announced that he was stepping down as Microsoft’s chairman to focus on charitable work at his foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a great initiative taken by Gates.

Early Life

Born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle in a family having rich business, political, and community service background. Gates grew up in an upper-middle-class family with his two sisters Kristianne and Libby. His great-grandfather was a state legislator and a mayor too. His grandfather was the vice president of a national bank, whereas, his father was a lawyer by profession.

Bill Gates believed that if you are intelligent and know how to use your intelligence, then you can reach your goals and targets. He was a bright, competitive, ambitious student, with high intellect.

These qualities helped him a lot in achieving the dreams he always dreamt of in his life. When Bill’s parents came to know about their son’s intelligence and capabilities he had, they decided to enroll him in a private school. Gates spent most of his time in the computer lab than in class. Bill and his friends were so into computers that they form a group called “Programmers Group” in late 1968. Both of them became really good friends as both of them have the same enthusiasm for computers though both of them were very different people.

At the age of 15, Bill Gates and his close friend Allen formed a new company of their own, Traf-O-Data. They developed a small computer to measure traffic flow, from this they earned a lot of money. Both of them usually spent their time working on programs.

Both of them wanted to start their own company but, Gates’ parents wanted him to finish school then go to college and become a lawyer. The era of Traf-O-Data came to an end when Gates left the school. Allen went to Washington State University and Bill went to Harvard. After leaving school, he almost lost himself in the world of computers. Gates and his friend Allen remained in close contact even though they were apart, always discussing new ideas, features and planning to start a business one day. Turning a Dream into Reality

After attending college just for two years, Allen dropped out and moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to work for Honeywell. Allen showed Gates an edition of a magazine that consists of an article on the Altair 8800 mini-computer kit. Both Gates and Allen contacted the company to proclaim that they were working on a basic software program that would run on their Altair computer. To be honest they don’t even know how these Altair computers operate as they didn’t have one.

MITS asked both of them to show a demonstration of their software program. They geared up and worked for 2 months on their software at Harvard’s lab. Allen went to demonstrate the software program to MITS, and it worked perfectly. Then he was hired at MITS. Gates soon left Harvard to work with him, and together they founded Microsoft. Microsoft’s concept is, “A computer on every desk and Microsoft software on every computer”.

Bill Gates is not just an intelligent face, he is a philanthropist as well. He donated a lot of money to many schools for underprivileged children. Bill is a visionary person. He believes in taking risks, rather than depending on God for everything like others do. Bill’s belief in his high intelligence and hard work has put him where he is today.
